Minneapolis/St. Paul – June 6, 2019 – Three Team USA Minnesota women will travel to opposite ends of the country this weekend with Katy Jermann and Breanna Sieracki competing in the USATF Women’s 10k Championships in Manhattan, and Heather Kampf heading to Washington state to run in the inaugural Downtown Yakima Mile. Both events are on June 8.
The USATF Women’s 10k Championships are hosted by the NYRR New York Mini 10k, which is the world’s original women-only road race founded in 1972. The race, which starts at 8 a.m. (Eastern), is part of the USATF Running Circuit.
Jermann has a best of 32:43 on the road in the 10k, while Sieracki will be running her first 10k road race. Sieracki has posted 34:37 at 10k cross country and won the NACAC Cross Country Championships last February while also leading the U.S. women’s team to first place.
At the Yakima Mile, presented by Virginia Mason Memorial, Kampf will race in the elite women’s race which will be one of 11 mile events held on Yakima Avenue starting at 5:30 p.m. (Pacific). The event is the second stop on the 2019 Bring Back the Mile series.
Kampf has a best in the road mile of 4:19.80 and is a four-time USA 1 Mile Road Champion.
